The Best Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
In my opinion these are the best oatmeal cookies I’ve ever had! It takes about a 30 minutes in total and makes about 36 cookies. Here’s the recipe below:
Ingredients:
Dry ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
Wet ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup dark brown sugar (light brown also works), firmly packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Add in’s:
- 3 cups of old fashioned oats
- 1 1/2 cups raisins (optional)

Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350° Fahrenheit.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a medium bowl, and set aside.
- Combine wet ingredients in a large bowl and mix by hand or a hand mixer on low.
- Mix together the wet ingredients until fluffy and the color lightens.
- Stir in the dry mixture into the wet mixture until no flour is visible.
- (Over mixing can led to a tough cookie, so try to avoid that) Now add in the oats and raisins, stirring until they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- Take about 2 tablespoons of cookie dough and roll it into a ball.
- Drop about 2 inches apart onto a baking sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray or lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes (on the center rack), until golden, but still relatively moist.
- Remove from oven; let cookies sit on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes or until cool. Enjoy!
